Thanks for the quick explanation, I suspected it was by design.
Disconnecting at the DAC is indeed the easiest option.
As a tinkerer I use all kinds of software (or write my own), so I understand that I'm not your typical user.

As soon as ILDA is connected, it overrides the internal mainboard. The most simple option is to unplug the ILDA cable from the DAC.
You can also try to disconnect ground on the ILDA line from your DAC to the laser, this should do the trick.
however, this is a very rare scenario you have, as most users stick with one option (mostly using ShowNET for the ease an convenience).

Connect DS1000 via both ethernet and ilda was created by Patrick Hogenboom
Hi there,
I've got a DS1000 and I'd like to have it connected via both ethernet and ilda dac, as different software uses one or the other.
But so far I've found that ShowEditor only finds the laser if I disconnect the ilda cable (unplugging the DAC from the pc doesn't help)
Is there something I can configure so that ethernet and ilda can both remain connected ?

Thanks in advance, Patrick
