Hello Max,
Thanks for your input.
I am very surprised, I think you have more luck than me. I use an APC40 MK1 on MidiIn1 and a Launchpad Mini MK3 on MidiIn2 with the unofficial version you are talking about (V3.01). Although the "learning" works with this version, the software does not react to MIDI commands learned from the Launchpad (or any other controllers).
On which MIDI channel does your Mini MK3 work? What type of commands do you send (Note, CC, ...)?
Thank you,
Dimitri

Hello,
currently it is intended that the hard-coded devices must be on MidiIn1 and TeachIn devices on Midi2.
In the settings you can also enable MidiIn1 in the next version and disable automatic mapping completely.
The reason for this is a new Advanced TeachIn which also allows feedback for LEDs and motorized faders. OSC can then also be used for operation.
Disadvantage: The customer has to look for the manual with the appropriate midi commands for his console. We cannot and will not create profiles for all devices on the market.
The Advanced TeachIn will be included as a beta in the next version. Not all functions are active yet, give us a few days, it will be worth the wait!

The Novation Launchpad mini mk3 does work alongside my APC 40MK2 using TeachIn, it has to be on MIDIIN2 for me. It took a bit of work to get it to function and I had to substitute the Live.exe as found in this topic:
https://showcontroller.com/en/forum/showcontroller-live/259-midi-in-device-2-not-working-in-teach-in-table.html
The Custom profiles of the Novation make it a blast to program chasers/effects etc. Integration would be awesome if made highly customizable, otherwise I find the current way it works more than fine for me. The only thing missing is that 'latched'-effects don't keep their LED's on. But I will be using flash/temp effects most of the time.
Anyway, check out this link for the custom profiles guide, it's very powerful: https://support.novationmusic.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360009860380-Launchpad-Components-Custom-Mode-Editor-Guide

Hello developer team,
While Akai APC40 MK1/MK2 or APC Mini MK1/MK2 are able to control main functions in LIVE out-of-the-box with LED feedback capability (except for banks selection limited to 1-5), what about integrating MIDI controllers like the famous Novation Launchpad series?
I think these would be perfect for controlling missing features like chasers, groups, fog but above all... effects! (8x6 grid)
If MK2 and MK3 series like Launchpad Mini MK2/MK3, or the big brothers Launchpad MK2 or Launchpad X could be fully supported with LED feedback, it will be really wonderful in order to have full control and feedback over LIVE software!
Is there any development in this direction? As a kind reminder, the MIDI learning module recognizes MIDI commands with the unofficial version 3.01 (Build 17.11.2024), but at the end the MIDI commands sent have no effect on the software. And anyway, LED feedback is not available.
Thank you for your feedback on a possible integration,
Dimitri
